Tug Hijacked in the Gulf of Aden

An American-owned and Italian-flagged tug towing two barges, and operated by a UAE company, was hijacked while travelling westbound through the Gulf of Aden this morning. The 16-man crew are believed to be unharmed and shipping in the area has been warned to stay away from where the vessel was taken for fear of further attacks.
